CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT – SQUEAKY CLEAN SOFA
Please read these conditions carefully before scheduling or confirming your sofa, upholstery, and fabric cleaning service with Squeaky Clean Sofa.
1. Colour Fading & Stains
Original fabric and leather colours that have faded by wear and tear or exposure to sunlight cannot be restored. Some stains (e.g. grease, sweat, body oils, pet stains, hair oils) may have permanently altered the fibres and may not be entirely removable. We will exercise due care and skill in all cleaning services.
2. Price Quotations & Estimates
Price quotations given over the phone or online are estimates only. Exact costs will be determined after on-site inspection of fabric type, condition, and soil level, and confirmed with you before work commences.
3. Emergency & Same-Day Services
Same-day or emergency bookings cancelled after confirmation may incur a reasonable cancellation fee. Where the operator has been dispatched or attended the property and the customer cancels, is unavailable, or denies access, reasonable call-out charges apply to recover operational and scheduling costs incurred.
4. Call-Out Charges
• If our operator attends your property and recommends a treatment that you choose not to proceed with, a call-out fee will apply.
• If you decide to schedule services with the operator after receiving the recommendation, the call-out fee will still apply and will not be deducted from the final service price.
• This fee reflects the costs incurred in providing the operator’s attendance, travel, and professional assessment.
5. Pre-Existing Conditions & Fabric Limitations
We accept responsibility for services performed without due care and skill. However, some pre-existing conditions may affect results. Examples include:
a) Dry Rot & Age Weakening – brittle backing or internal foam deterioration.
b) Weak or Unstable Dyes – fabrics where non-colourfast dyes have been used by the manufacturer.
c) Chemical Discolouration – caused by urine, medications, acids, or prior DIY spot-cleaners.
d) Sun Fading – UV degradation to cushions and armrests which cannot be reversed.
e) Fabric Shading / Nap Wear – flattened pile on velvet, chenille, or microfibre from heavy use.
f) Seam & Stitching Deterioration – weakened threads or piping that may loosen during cleaning.
g) Texture Changes – certain natural fibres (cotton, linen, silk blends) may feel slightly different as they dry.
6. Storage of Offsite Items
Cushions, covers, or rugs taken off-site will be stored safely. Complimentary storage is provided for 7 days following notification of completion. After this period, reasonable storage fees may apply.
7. Formal Complaints & Reporting Timeframe
Any formal complaint must be reported within 24 to 48 hours of service completion. This timeframe allows us to properly inspect the upholstery before external factors, drying conditions, or subsequent use alter its condition. Complaints raised after this period may be harder to verify, but this does not limit your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Variations in Writing
These conditions cannot be varied except in writing by an authorised representative of Squeaky Clean Sofa.
9. Service Receipt & Liability for Payment
The customer acknowledges receipt of services and goods and accepts liability for all charges herein. Payment is strictly due upon completion of the service unless previously confirmed in writing.
10. Repairs & Onsite Approval
Repairs and treatments are carried out with due care and skill. As they address existing damage, outcomes may vary and cannot be guaranteed. Any adjustments must be requested while the operator is on-site. Please inspect the work and release the operator on-site, as once the operator departs, no further liability is accepted.
11. Acceptance of Job Description & Price
The customer confirms they have carefully reviewed all instructions, descriptions of the work, and the quoted price prior to payment and authorizing the service.
12. Water & Flood Damage Restoration
For furniture or upholstery affected by flood, leak, or water damage, our operator will recommend essential sanitising, drying, and anti-bacterial treatments. If the customer declines any of these recommended treatments, the operator will not be responsible for mould, odour, internal foam decay, or secondary damage arising from untreated conditions.
Operator Recommendations
All treatments are carried out with professional care and skill. If a customer declines or alters any treatment or process recommended by the operator, this will be strictly against the operator’s advice, and the operator will not be held responsible for subsequent deterioration.
IMPORTANT
We take all reasonable care around your personal property. However, we are not liable for accidental damage when handling unrequested items. If you require our technicians to assist in moving furniture or fragile items, please ensure this is noted and acknowledged on the service agreement.
A SPECIAL INSTRUCTION ABOUT YOUR MATERIAL
Individual care is provided to your specific lounge fabric. Some deep-set stains (cordial, pet urine, ink, coffee, tannins, or artificial dyes) may have permanently bonded with the fibres and can remain visible after surface soil is extracted. This is due to the inherent nature of the fibre and dye, not an omission in cleaning.
We spare no effort to ensure your furniture looks its best. Please allow adequate air circulation, ceiling fans, or open windows to speed drying time and preserve the softness of your upholstery.
